Beautiful stuff...  Also check out the radio that the owner needs to complete by adding an antenna and knobs to.

Duncan Wilson

Duncan Wilson, who you might remember from those PSP shelters, has a nice site with some interesting arty-design stuff.  I like this wallpaper he made which has triangles cut in it allowing you to use it as a big noticeboard.

"Dream On"
Velvet and Elastic

Atypyk is a french company making extremely witty why-didn't-I-think-of-that objects, some of which are even mildly useful.  They've made rather a lot of them too, so if you are going to plough through and look at them all, you should make sure you are seated comfortably.

Also check out www.joekral.org for more goodness.

Joe's had some bad luck of the sudden internal bleeding variety lately so if you have some spare coinage maybe you could flip some his way here.

Oh, and if you are in the states, or some other country which doesn't look after people who have less than other people, you might want to put "get health insurance" on your to-do list for this week.

London Design Festival

Gallery_2

You have nearly missed the London Design Festival - unless you are actually in London and way ahead of me, in which case good for you.

You can see a bit of stuff from last year's festival here.  That stuff looks good enough to make it the Design Event of the year, but in fact it was last year, so it may have to be disqualified.  No scented candle for you, London Design Week 2005 - so there.

Above is a chandelier of miscellaneous everythings, by someone unknown.  If anyone knows who it is, you know the drill - unmarked bills, train station safety deposit box.  Thanks.

Cutting Up Knives

produced by Pervisioni

Story:
Cutting Up Knives is a production of selected knives, modified to become bottle openers through the application of an industrial process. Each bottle opener is individually chosen and cut. Beautiful name brand knives have been ruthlessly transformed, while factory rejects and second hand knives have been recycled, modified to become useful once again, functionally reassigned , yet still connected to their own unique history.
