For two days in Singapore, ( 2nd and 3rd March) dwellers of this often robot like city can head down to the recesses of the Esplanade to try catch a whiff of the sublime with French modern dance company Ballet Preljocaj.
6 dancers will be showing us a glimpse of choreographer, Angelin Preljocaj's intepretation of 'Near Life Experience', set to the music of electronic duo AIR.
Need I say more?
I bought front row seats so I could see every twitch and flex of muscle on bodies I wish I possessed.
"Near Life Experience is about those out-of-body moments when the senses become so charged that the mind cuts loose. A lot of the moments portrayed are delectable, such as orgasm and exhilaration. Others are agonising..." - The Guardian, UK
Be enthralled by the Asia premiere of Near Life Experience, a critically-acclaimed ballet by France's leading modern dance company, Ballet Preljocaj. This dance will unveil FRANCOFUN, Festival of French Speaking Countries.
<>With sell-out performances in the USA and Europe, the dance draws you into various human emotions - a fainting spell, an ecstatic moment, a trance, anger, love, joy - captivated through the dancers' virtuosic portrayals that travel a delicate line veering from tense, physical contact to spiritual, body-abandoning sensations.
