neverhappened

Theo Jansen

Five months after being awarded the prestigious BMW (South Africa) advertising account, fledgling creative hotshop Ireland/Davenport launched the agency's first new TV commercial for the brand. Shot in the Netherlands utilising the moving sculptures of world-renowned artist Theo Jansen, the commercial, entitled "Kinetic Sculptures" forms part of a broader campaign which serves to highlight BMW's market leadership in the fields of technology and innovation. Seen previously on Neverhappened waaaay back in 2004...

P.S.  Not sure how hard it is to make an advertisement for BMW these days, but it seems like trolling through a few blogs and buggering off for a weekend with an HDV camera would probably do the trick.

Serge Seidlitz

Orangeplane

This ad by Serge for mobile phone provider Orange resonated for me as I've been in Bangkok the last two weeks and somewhat hard to get hold of.  To all the lovely people that emailed me and I didn't reply yet - I will get around to it.  Soon.

Adrian Tomine ad by Open

Between_moments_2

Between Moments Without Drama, Coke Ad by comic artist Adrian Tomine and open

Making Coke more ordinary. The Between campaign, developed in collaboration with ad agency Wieden + Kennedy and copywriter Kathy Hepinstall , tries to make Coca-Cola more part of everyday Japanese life. Each print ad defines a moment (and chance to drink Coke) by what came before and what comes after: "between heartbreaks," "between moments without drama" (with art by Adrian Tomine), and "between places your mind wanders to." In the television spots (directed by Sogo Ishii), the product is similarly placed in the middle: "between hope and disappointment," "between asleep and awake."
