Will Self

One of my absolutely favourite authors is Will Self - I'm loving reading The Book Of Dave at the moment.  Picked it up on my way to Bangkok - haven't put it down since (except for once when it slipped out of my hand when I was struck by a tuk-tuk).

Will has a blog, bless him, and there I was thrilled to find 71 pictures of his writing room.  I'm guessing they must have been taken while The Book Of Dave was in progress, judging from the maps of London with topographical tide marks in red felt tip pen on them. 

And I was fascinated to discover the secret behind his method is actually not heroin, but post it notes.

Plump Plum

Michael Crowe (whose other blog, Fig Crumbs is a trove of interesting writing) has an eclectic art blog called Plump Plum - but unfortunately he doesn't name the artists he posts works of so I'm a bit lost.  I've decided to post a few pictures a) because I haven't for a while and b) because maybe someone can leave a comment with the name of the artists if they know them.  Thanks.

I know that last one is a postcard, that's just to make it a bit more difficult.  There is actually a prize, you see.  Unfortunately I can't reveal what it is at this stage...

Even Superman Needs Day Off

Just heard from my friend.  He now has a blog...  He's from Taiwan, and his english name is really Superman.  I'm in Taipei this week actually and today I met someone who was at school with a person named Meeting and another person called Shoes.  Another guy I know is called Pudding.  I'm not making this up.  More of Superman's pictures after the Continued Next Week button.

Art - No Experience Necessary

Whenever I walk around chimes (and mind you, I do that, alot) , there’s always a Singapore Art Museum (SAM) sticker to be spotted somewhere.
The sticker’s actually SAM’s entry ticket ($3/visit, by the way); Chimes is just down the street from SAM.

The sticker reads “Art, No Experience Is Necessary.”
